Awww it does hurt, do your own research and be careful where you look. Also, insurance may not cover it and it could be an out of pocket cost. I have seen my kids get pricked in their heal just to give a blood sample.....and they cry. Most doctors will not give any pain meds, they use sugar on a pacifier. @michaelsmommy1995

my son was circumcised. if it does hurt they will never remember it and basically it doesn't hurt because of that simple fact, they will never have any recollection of it. but you're gonna go through a crap ton of Vaseline while it's healing lol. he got it done the day he was born on the 24th and today it was finally healed to give him a real bath

there are ways to reverse some of the damage but there is no way to regain all that's lost. i will NOT argue. this will be my last response to anyone in rebuttal.

Also my FIL had to do it as an adult BC of infection and I would say it is a lot more traumatic to have to get it done later in life verses infancy

wow I can't believe your husband doesn't have a preference. well maybe ask your dad lol. I'm having twin boys and I definitely am. My husband looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned it to him. I used to work at L&D and have seen several done. It definitely hurts them. But not for long.

And please for the love of all genders, do NOT compare male circumcision to female.....

@zombiemombie, there is actually ways men are reversing the procedure.... But again it's a personal opinion and I have multiple guy friends considering having it done at 20-25.... It also makes it VERY hard for condoms to stay on correctly and work effectively later in life. Which opens the door for STI's and pregnancy.

It's a really personal decision. It's something you should definitely discuss with family and physicians. No, there is no medical need for it. It is only in America that it's considered to be more hygienic. It's extremely difficult to get unbiased opinions on circumcision online - especially forum based sites like this one. People can be extremely passionate about it one way or another. The only thing I will disagree with that's been said so far is "it doesn't hurt" it absolutely hurts the way it is most commonly performed. Best of luck ☺️

My 2 year old is not circumcised and if baby #2 is a boy, we won't do it to this baby either. There is no medical necessity so my wife and I have chosen not to do it to our sons

I had my son circumsized upon request of dad since I don't have a penis. It healed within a week and a half. I did recently here a story about a 14 year old boy who had to get a circumsizion due to an infection. He couldn't walk right for months after and I guess it was really hard on him. Personally, it's not a huge deal but I would definitely do some of your own research. Maybe ask a couple guy friends if your comfortable with that.

if you'd like some information on the benefits of not doing it I'd be happy to give them to you. it definitely does hurt them. that's a piece of their body they can never get back.

My husband doesn't care. My grandma was asking . I guess she had never had my dad circumcised when he was born @kisha

Less risk of infection! I have a cousin who wasn't and when he was 4 they had to finally do it because he kept getting infections no matter how you much you cleaned it :( poor guy! In my opinion much better to do it as a baby but, everyone has their own preferences :) I was really up in the air about it because there really is no medical reason. Most of the time it won't get infected but, some people it does :/ luckily I'm having a girl haha

Actually there is no higher risk of infection (if you leave it intact) as long as you clean your child well. Do your own research because on here you will just get biased opinions because getting circumcised is the social norm. I'm choosing not to circumcise my son because I see no reason to remove something that is there naturally and put my child through pain. If it is done incorrectly major problems could happen.

Its personal preference. It definitely does hurt them for a little but I think its OK. Ask the father what he thinks.

I prefer it as far as cleaning and later issues. My husband also has chosen to make sure our boys are circumcised. It is VERY safe but with anything there's always complications reported... Be picky about who does it if you chose to do so. Get reviews, as about method, recovery, and follow up for patients. My son had zero issue and cried the most when he got the betaine on him to clean the area than when he actually had the bell put on.
