I know the discussion of nursing in public has become a pretty big thing. Although I feel it's gotten a little out of hand. Today I was "shamed" for nursing my baby with a cover?! 😫 Of all things!! So please let me explain myself (not that it's needed)
1. I have no problems with public breastfeeding. Never have. I've even had to do it a few times here and there.
2. I and my husband are much more comfortable nursing our son with a cover. End of story!
3. My son is a very distracted nurser and if he isn't covered he won't eat. It's a pop off session where the whole world ends up seeing everything.
4. It's a personal choice! Leave me alone! I am not a bad mom for covering my child. You don't know my situation so please back off!
Now, this is is NO WAY against anybody who decides to nurse publicly (you go girl!) but it's not my personal preference. Some say I have self esteem issues...maybe. Some say I'm irresponsible and shouldn't be afraid to feed my child.....I feel these people are wrong. I am not afraid. I am comfortable.
I assure you my child is not suffocating. He is not covered in the scorching heat. We are in an a/c cooled restaurant and he is perfectly content. 😠
