I know how she feels. I cried for weeks, and then when I found out it was only one baby I cried more because I wanted twins to get it over with haha. Now here I am doing it again so my son has a friend. Im done though, I hope she feels better really soon, and that her doc sees her at least by 7 or 8 weeks so she can start a better med

I can imagine, I used to get scared with my son, but my mom told me, as long as you are sick, you will know the baby is there...it sounds bad, but my mom had it for 7 months, and with one of my siblings that she lost, she knew right away when she stopped vomiting. Idk if it will help give her peace of mind, but it did for me in a odd wierd way. The doc can also set her up on a constant iv feed where a nurse will visit her home once a day, and change the fluid bag. It was offered to me, but I was afraid my son would try to play with it, and tear the iv out or something. But i do know a couple girls on here who have it, and it really is a lifesaver since it feeds her everything she needs

If she has it, there may be a chance that no med will work for her, or there could be one that helps. She will have bad days and good days with the medicine, but the goal is to maintain weight. If she continues to call, and bug her doctor for some meds, he will start to care more, and do what he has to. Some docs are mean, she may want to consider switching while shes early on. Everyone told me eat this, or drink this, if she has hyperemisis not even a sip of water will stay down, but tell her not to worry, the first trimester the baby is small, and will grow, she just has to learn to balance her weight and try not to lose. I just kinda figured it out again, and im 12 weeks :/ I started out at 4 weeks. But hey if she had an insurance that doesnt have a co pay for er, shoot I would be in the er all the time for fluids, and meds. I have a $150 copay so I had to choose when to go :/

Its part of it, sounds like she has hyperemisis too.. I have lost 20 lbs so far with this second pregnancy, diclegis was the only thing that saved me, now I can eat little meals and maintain the weight that I do have. I gain 1lb, but then I lose it if I try to get up and walk, its hard. I was hospitalized 7 times with my first pregnancy so I know she is suffering, it aint easy. She can ask about diclegis, but if she isnt comfortable with any meds, she can try vitamin b6 by itself. its a vitamin, so its not bad. But i really would suggest diclegis to at least try. She has a long way to go still even if its just for the first trimester so its worth a try

Its expensive though, $600/bottle, with insurance I paid $40/bottle. She can get a sample from her doc to try it out

yeah, that would be zofran, there have been cases against it. Thats when I discovered diclegis, and its honestly a lifesaver. No association with any birth defects, and is designed for pregnant women
