Great! I'll try that once I have to start supplementing next week. @lovelycin09
You can do it that way or the way that I was told also and how I did it I didn't have any problems he always finished his bottles just make sure you put the exact amount he drinks nothing more or less &I I had to mix it because he wouldn't drink formula alone he didn't like the taste of it. He only drank it when it was mixed with breastmilk.
I was advised to give the breastmilk first then give formula so that breatmilk isn't wasted if the baby doesn't finish the entire bottle. @lovelycin09
The nurses in the nicu did for my daughter when she was there
@lovelycin09, my son was premie so they did it to help him gain weight when he got home and I strictly bf him he had issues so I decided to put him back on and his dr agreed
@nicemmcha2015, bc hes a premie the NICU fortified his milk when he came home I just breastfed him and he always threw it up and became very constipated so my pediatrician put him back on to help regulate his poop and it worked so that's why
For any reasons like not having a lot of milk or for their weight etc. @nicemmcha2015
When my son was born I did breastmilk mixed with formula because I wasn't producing enough let's say 2 oz of breastmilk and 2 oz of formula the way to prepare it is warm up the breastmilk first then in a clean bottle mix water with powder formula shake well then mix in the breastmilk when is warm and shake shake shake lol if you do it the other way around it will spoil the milk and won't mix right. My baby gained about 5lbs when I mixed it and he liked it now he don't drink formula hell spit it out he just loves breastmilk
@withlovedkj, however you feel comfortable
