What are y'alls thoughts on just doing a Facebook invite for a baby shower? My friend who is planning it thinks it's trashy, but the date we picked is only 5 weeks away, and I don't think we'll have time to get everyone's addresses and mail them out.

Thanks everyone!! My mom said that the invitations I wanted were $2.50 a piece, plus postage, and since she said she'd pay for them if we did paper invites, there is NO way I'm letting her drop $200+ on invites. Plus a lot of my friends are still in college, so they're going back and forth between school apartments and parents houses, and I don't want them getting lost in the mail.

That's how I did mine! I'd say it's even more convenient for everyone else since they can just RSVP with a click of a button
and giving updates would be easier and posting your registry would be easy
I did mine via Facebook invite ! It's great cuz we actually have a head count on who's coming also what @graciesmama said . It saves money on actually Mail invitations
