My friends just found out she's 4 -6 weeks pregnant, and she's going to Mexico in a months time. She's really worried…

my travel company sent out a warning to pregnant travellers as they'd had a case of zika virus in St Lucia, I laughed and thought well that doesn't apply to me. Then two weeks later found out I was pregnant so could travel in October plus wouldn't risk it with the virus. They've held on to my deposit to use next summer in Europe when we will be a family of 5 😍

I was due to go Mexico but I would have been 29-30weeks and it was fine as I was low risk only reason I didn't go was I knew I'd be so uncomfy on the plane and too hot but I was in my third trimester so aslong as she isn't high risk I think she's be fine xx

I was supposed to get married in cancun but then found out I was pregnant, Virgin holidays then contacted me and told me that they didn't think it was a good idea to go and if I wanted to cancel or go elsewhere that they consider safer they'd change it for free (no admin fees etc)...I then spoke to my midwife about it and she said it would be best not to go. Anyway we cancelled and got married here instead in March because we didn't want to risk it. This was when it was still all over the papers and news now so things may be different, i'd advise her to research into it and check with her gp and midwife before making her decision xx

Also get her to ask her midwife if the zika virus is present over there xx

Best to ask a midwiife .. my sister traveled by plane and she didnt know she was pregnant..she was 4-5 weeks i think. She was fine but its always best to ask becauae i dont think you're suposed to x
