What can you do for a constipated 4 day old? I'm breastfeeding but I was scared that I wouldn't be able to because I had a breast reduction 5 yrs ago so I was also supplementing with formula. My milk came in yesterday and is actually coming out (yay!!!) so I haven't given her any more formula but she hasn't pooped and was screaming in the middle of the night for over an hr, she just kept passing gas, I'm thinking she's constipated?

Make sure she is constipated though, some babies can go days without pooping but aren't constipated. Breast fed babies rarely are constipated. Sometimes they are just frustrated because they are still learning what muscles to use. But the gripe water usually gets things moving if your worried, usually within 12 hours. and yes you can get it there! @bianca_rose
I would give her some gripe water, it usually helps with gas pain, stomach aches, Etc. @bianca_rose
