What I plan on doing is being a stay at home mom til my daughter is old enough to be in preschool, then I'll get a part time job. I'm able to do that because we are living pretty good now ( my husband is in the navy), so I'm taking of it now and just go to school.. So by time my daughter is ready for school (4years) I'll be in my career (I want to be a nurse). Hopefully this plan works, still researching but o don't trust daycares or anyone but family with my daughter so daycare is out the window.

I stay home with my son and I definitely felt guilty at first because I felt like I was putting all of the pressure on my husband financially but we have made it work for 6 months. The cost of daycare is outrageous and what I want in my life more than anything is to be able to take care of my son. And it's HARD work. No matter what you or anyone else thinks, it's exhausting.

@micky, But if I leave, I will probably never go back. It would be basically permanent. After leaving for 5 years or more it's really hard to get right back to the level I'm at. You usually start out with lower pay. I worked so hard to get here so it's a tough decision.

@babyn2015, Im a teacher. I could work weekends but something totally different that probably would not pay as much. I was thinking maybe work from home. Ive always wanted to raise my own children not leave them to someone else so this is definitely a life changing decision for me. @kenitra im glad to hear I wouldn't be the only one putting their career on hold. I think carrers or jobs can wait (if you can manage financially) but ur baby's time passes so quickly.

I am probably not going back after - like 99% sure, but I am leaving my options open so I can see how I feel when the baby actually comes. Fortunately though, my decision is hard because I don't know if I want to leave my career I worked so hard for. Financially we are fine without my salary.

You still can work and breastfeed.. On you breaks you could pump or see if your boss could give you a time just when you could pump

Idk what you do for work but could you work weekends? That way your baby always has one of you guys at home. It was very hard for us but we finally decided for me to stay home full time with the baby! And if I have to work I only do ur on weekends, that way the baby and her dad have their quality time alone :)
