I need some advice.. I am moving across the US, 36 hour drive... 3,000 miles.... with my daughter who will be only 2…

I'll be in the backseat with her the whole time. My boyfriend and the person who is driving will be up front. @cubanese

My husband and I did back and forth from IL to FL and back and a month and a half later moved there and did the same drive. My son was only 2 months the first time and 3 and a half months the second time and he slept most of the time and it was a lot easier then I expected. It's about 22 hours each way. Just stop and stretch often.

I know there is going to be times she's going to need to feed and have a diaper change when we are in the middle of nowhere... do you think its safe to park on the side of the road and do those things in the backseat? @cubanese @bugmama

we drove from Pennsylvania to California with my oldest who was a month old at the time... we stopped every couple hours got her out and fed her...she did fine.... we stopped at rest stops or restaurants for feedings and walking around.

Do you pump as well? & if you have to pull over to change the baby in the backseat I say go for it I have a change pad in my baby bag & I'll do it if my daughter needs to get changed

I haven't had her yet and I hope to be getting a pump from WIC as soon as I have her... im just not familiar on storage of the milk.... should it be cold or warm if I pump and put it in a bottle? I'm so new to all this.... @youluvkay

If I'm at a rest stop and she hasn't woke up in a while to eat or have a diaper change and its the only rest stop for a while should I wake her up and try to feed her? @mama.of.3.

@meghanrae, we actually did then bc we knew it would be a while until we would be able to stop. surprisingly it wasn't a bad trip... we had our family dog with us too.. poor things been from pa to ca back to pa lol.

That's crazy were doing pretty much the same route, I'm going from upstate NY to Tucson Arizona! And I'm also taking my dog! She's a Chihuahua. I hope this goes well.. @mama.of.3.

I would say to attempt to pull over at rest stops their usually every 2 to 2 1/2 hours. I would map out those and the large gas stations. Like road rangers they have awesome parking lots that can be private.

@meghanrae, I live in ohio but went home to Oregon to have my son with my mom. I left Oregon when he was three days old to come back home. I nursed. We stopped at every rest stop. I also leaned over the car seat and nursed him while his dad drove if the rest stop was too far away. I didn't use pacifiers so I couldn't just give him that to pacify him. It took about two days to get to Oregon and eight days to come back. Take lots of breaks. Feed and change whenever you can. Always wake up baby to feed when you are stopped.
