.. How can I reduce risk of SIDS? Ive been anxious all day and night.. Im so scared of it. I almost broke my arm the other night because I flipped myself over the couch arm to move my babys head from a face down position on his dads chest. Im juet.. Im so scared. Hes so precious. If I lost him, I couldnt deal with it.. I wouldnt be myself. I need him in my life now. 😢 Please ladies.. How can I make this as less a chance as possible?
I do wake for feedings for Im usually a night owl, but manage to have the energy to be up during the day, so he has a lot of super vision so Im glad that helps. Ill be sure to keep plushy stuff and such out of his crib away from his face. Right now he sleeps by me in a bassinet and always by me unless with daddy.
I know 2 babies that have died from it. honestly there is nothing to prevent it because they have no clue what causes it. best thing you can do is relax. enjoy your baby. stop living with what ifs. it'll ruin you physically and mentally. because to put it bluntly it doesn't matter what you do or don't do..
Sleeping on their backs with no blankets or anything extra in the crib or bassinet. I have also read that sleeping with a pacifier helps as well. Overall just remember to be calm. You are probably doing everything correctly anyway, but you can't worry yourself to death about it even though it is stressful. Read as much as you can to try to stay informed.
Follow the guidelines for it. No blankets or pillows by his face. Always sleeping on his back. Swaddling if he likes that UNTIL he can roll. No bumpers or things in his crib. And although people like when baby sleeps through the night, waking for feedings or being changed reduces the risk for SIDS as well.
I Totally Understand The Worry I'm On The Same Page, Usually For Naps I Let Him Sleep In The Boppy Pillow And I Have The Pack And Play Sleeper, I Refuse To Use A Crib.
They said the best way to reduce it is the let baby sleep on its back. SIDS terrifies me too so I know how you feel. I find myself waking up just to make sure he's breathing. My baby is 2 weeks old. He sleeps in his bassinet at night and I like to wrap him in those swaddler blankets they are cozy and you don't have to worry about he smothering. He seems to enjoy sleeping on his back I'm glad. My other two children hated it!
Ill just watch for signs of him not being himself, and take him in right away.
