What do you do if your 2 or 3 year old is having a tantrum in public? Kicking and screaming and don't wanna walk…

pinch her/him or take a walk to the bathroom.... its time for discipline. I know it sounds bad but if u don't do anything it will only get worse when the new baby arrives... 😞😞

I'd ignore them. it's been my experience screaming at them doesn't work.

depends if im in a grocery store I make him sit in the cart if we are in a place where he needs to walk I tell him if he dosnt act right that he will go to the car and sit there once I tell him that he usually listens if it gets to out of control I leave sometimes I just don't want to leave but if he don't act right he gets those consequences and when we get home I tell him why we left or why he is sitting in the car I give him about 3-5 min of sitting in the car talk to him and once he calms down we can try it again

@1sttimemommie16, took the words out my mouth! My kids tried that with me ONCE! If they know that there will be no REAL consequences they will continue to do it! But that's just me I spank my kids! Spare the rod spoil the child'nn

lol @sweetnicole yes girl especially the kids today... they are way bolder than my generation growing up... u can talk all day but they still show out... my kids gonna get popped...

kids don't stay kids for ever. better train em while they young or they gonna end up dead or in jail

I'm a registered behavior technician and work as a behavior therapist. I frequently deal with tantrums and non compliance. Obviously we don't spank the kids. There are other successful ways/options in dealing with and disciplining children.

I was spanked, swatted on the ass with a belt, swatted on the ass with a wet spoon, cracked across the mouth, and had other consequences like time out, no this, no that, etc. I turned out fine and respectful. I don't have the heart to do more than spank, but you bet your bottom dollar my daughter won't act up in public when she's older.

it depends on what works for your child. some kids you can spank and it doesn't work. some kids you can ignore and it works wonders. I mean it really depends on your child. it's trial and error. our daughter if we yell at her makes her worse. if we tap her gets her attention. if she throws down really bad we have to ignore her and she stops because she's not getting a reaction anymore. if we full blown tear her butt up it makes it way worse... but trust me we aren't anti spanking by any means... it's just what works with her stubborn butt.
