question what would happen if I ask to do blood test to see what the gender of my baby is, is it 100% accuret and also how far along do you have to be ?
@arivera64, yeah when I asked my doctor to do it he said no, it's only offered to women who have a high risk pregnancy. So at another appointment, when he wasn't there, I asked the other doctor on duty to do it and she did. 😂 I had to be sneaky.
I had to do the cell free dna test (for abnormalities) because of my age and with that test the asked if I wanted to know the gender. I said yes. That was at 12 weeks. My insurance paid for it because of my age. I don't know if they would do it if you are under 35.
The earliest you can have it done is 9 weeks most doctors do it at 11 weeks, it is 99.9% accurate, far more accurate than ultrasound

Those tests are done between 9 and 12 weeks depending on which one is offered. They are 99% accurate. Your insurance may or may not cover it. Your doctor may or may not offer it if you are not at risk for a baby with complications. It doesn't hurt to ask.
I believe my doctor told me it is 99% accurate. I had the blood test done, found out the gender at 15 weeks. And then confirmed it on the ultrasound at 20 weeks. But I think you can get the results earlier than I did via blood test.
