Anyone read that article "no im not the baby sitter im a young mom" WOW my life to a T. I get people are just curious. Since my child is half black sometimes it is hard to tell im his mom (although ik he does resemble me especially when we smile).
Ive had older women all the way down to a 9 yr old ask me if hes my baby brother or if im his baby sitter and when i say no im his mom or hes my baby the looks are priceless!!! Lol.
Needless to say I AM A YOUNG MOM AND I AM PROUD!

Same! My son is mixed and his skin is pretty dark considering mine, older women are the worst with their comments! Even when his father him and I are in public. I'm automatically the step mom! I just hope it doesn't continue and him see my frustration with the question.

Yes. My daughter is mixed. Her skin tone is much lighter than mine and her dads. He's tan, he's puerto rican and white. I'm a light skin, black and white. She just looks full on white, with blue eyes when neither of us have blue eyesl

I'm mixed, I'll tell you ladies it does get better❤ but there will always be those that will use it against them. Just do what y'all do already ladies and teach them they're perfect the way they are and they're beautiful. Nothing anyone says will matter:)

Thank you i needed to hear that! Im puerto rican and white and Kyle is black with white in him (his mom is mixed) and i dread those times where he feels he doesnt fit in with any race really you know @hermommy

@kysonsmama yeah, I never really went through that I don't notice that bothering me or the couple of mixes I know. It's more of the looking at mom and being "different" that always got me😩 but I was a huge mommy's baby when I was little. Brinley will be a mix too and luckily being one as well, I can prepare her. Our sweet babies just need to know they're them and they're perfect at being them, they're beautiful, smart, and anything else you feel they need to know. Kids are mean nowadays build up that confidence and your sweet guy will be just fine❤ Mixes have actually become very normal, but it's the older generation that is still against it

I read the article I don't think it matters how old you get I'm 30 and people always think I'm the older sister, definitely a compliment because when I'm out driving or just by myself people still ask. I get the mixed issue my friend is dark chocolate her husband is Latino and her daughter is fair and she cried once because the new care provider didn't believe she the mother and wouldn't release her daughter until another worker vouched for her but those days are long over.
