I agree with that, they can have their bf/gf over but no sleepovers in my house. Not unless they're over 18 in a committed relationship and even then... idk. Maybe if they're paying a little toward a utility or something. @nwhite

Make and female company in the family room and eye site yes. But the way I was raised and teaching my kids respect if your not married you won't be sharing not even a soda in my house.

My family was the same, I remember playing hide and seek and getting spanked because me and my girl cousin were hiding in the closet with our boy cousin. I personally don't agree with that for my own children, but to each his own.

Growing up boys weren't even allowed on the 2nd floor. Even one's we were babies with! Once we were too old to bathe together, that was it.

I feel the same though, my mom didn't talk to my about anything... not even my menstrual so talking to her was a big nono for me, my dad was really open and we talked about everything.. he was actually the first person I told when I was curious about having sex for the first time. @bria

It'll always be different because they're different sexes, but as far as rules go.. I don't think one child should get away with something and the other not. I think too much lol, I asked my SO and he said he wouldn't care if our son had a girlfriend stay over. But his mom let him do whatever and have girls stay over.... not me. @bria

@sarinunez, I don't know if I would bring up my girls and boys exactly the same way but when it comes to either of them having sleepovers it would have to be when they're older/serious relationship and even still idk. Like I def want my kids to always know they can tell me anything they need and I'll always have their back more than anyone else but at the same time my house won't be the hotel spot either lol. Just thinking about that makes me nervous !!! 😩😩😟😩

@sarinunez, oh god that's a whole other level. That's just not something I want to hear or accidentally walk in on. But honestly, Idk where I stand on that one. I want to be able to trust my kids and trust that they'll bring someone respectful of our beliefs into our home as well. If I don't think I can trust them or even just one of them, then they can't have people spend the night. If I feel I can trust them both, then they can have ppl stay. I know what it's like to be young, in love and inseparable.

I personally don't believe in double standards. I knew better than to even ask to have my bf sleep over and even if my parents weren't home I still wouldn't. It was a mix of respect and fear lol. I would consider it if they are over 18 and still living with us and have a serious gf/bf.. not just any person off the block 😒 @bria

I grew up in a dynamic where there are different rules for girls than boys. From childhood it was just like that (old school Italian family) a lot of the boys in my fam had more freedom but you better believe would get the beat down if they had a girl overnight lol. In my family that's a big no no, if u wanna sleep with a girl in your house you better marry her and move out ! Lmao

I meant when they are older and sexually active. I honestly didn't even think about girl and girl, and boy and boy. I hope I notice early on if my child/chidren are gay, not so much to stop the sleepovers but just so they know early on that they have me and their dad's support. @mrsmamagryffindor

I'd let any kid sleep over at a young age. Once they get older and start figuring out sex and each other's bodies, then that's when it would be cut off period. Things happen between girls and girls too when they sleep over each other's houses. That's how my wife and I got together LOL. Soo...It's really a matter of how comfortable you are with that possibility. And I'm just not.

When my child(ren) (I only have one now hopefully more in the future) are older I wouldn't allow my son to have girls stay the night or my daughter have boys stay the night. That's my parenting style and I'm by NO means bashing any one else's! :)
