tmi question

I put a call into my doctor already but I don't think I'll hear back from them. I've had off colored discharge all day it's like a redish brown looking. no consistent contractions or any signs of labor but I've never had this before. what could it be? I've also been really sick the last couple days could that be the reason for the weird color discharge?
