So, I caved and contacted my ex (Lyric's father) a few days ago. It had been 2 1/2 months of no contact. I had some stuff on my mind that was driving me crazy and I just had to know where he stood with our child and if he would have any interest.
I asked him if he would like me to send him an announcement and picture of his daughter when she's born and he said no. Then proceeded to tell me he misses me but that I ruined everything by taking my family's side and abandoning him, etc. Just lots of blame towards me and him acting like the victim and nothing was his fault.
I should've never bothered to waste time and emotion, but now I know the final answer and can move on - he doesn't care about his child. Before I was always offended and upset when people called him a "sperm donor" but that's exactly what he is now.

Sorry you're going through that. Hopeful when he hits puberty he will grow up and become a man.
Feel proud of yourself it didnt take years to look at it how you did
. Help or not as parents you have to do whats best for your child n you decided you would, either way rember family will always be their. I was in a similer situation and i left my family for my daughters dad, and at the end my family was still their waiting for me to make the right choices
@ayanhigirl, thanks. Yeah he thinks I "took my family's side" because they offered to help Lyric & I get started. Or we would've been homeless. He never bothered to find a job, move here and help us, or stop using drugs so I had to go with what my family offered. He can't accept that. 😕 but whatever I have to move on now.
thats so sad that he cant step up. but god must have amazing plans for you and your little one, stay positive and keep the Faith, theirs a reason why single moms are so hard on dads that dont give a crap. its hard being a mom period and for them not to take an interest is shaming for them. Stay Strong you did the right thing
