hello ladies. im 41 weeks pregnant as of tomorrow and scheduled for an induction to go in tonight. however, yesterday and today i lost 2 big pieces of my mucus plug. should i hold off the induction for a few days and wait it out , so possibly ill labor naturally soon?

oh I wasn't trying to condem you for being induced I know many times its medically necessary. I just wasn't aware it was the case for you so on the chance that you may have just been suggested it or pressured into it by your ob I wanted to make sure you knew all of your options. but it sounds like you totally do so good luck!

@evieru, thank you for ur response, the main reason for my induction is the weight of the baby that is already approximately 9 lbs ,also ive tried all of those natural methods u mentioned, except for the clary oil, i walk every day 4 miles and thats probably promoted the dislodge of my mucus plus, i do squats and have been on primrose since 37 weeks, 1500 mg every day.

so, being a doula myself I've seen many moms be talked into induction because they are " late" or "overdue" in reality the due date is just a estimate and the baby is most likely not coming because it isn't time. I tend to tell my mothers that they can go to 42 weeks before they should even start thinking induction and even at that try natural ways first. Many hospital inductions lead to a series of complications and end in emergency c section. there as just a girl on here who went through that. my suggestion would be to put it off, take some evening primrose oil pills, smell Clary sage essential oil and apply it to your temples, walk, have sex and most of all be patient. then only do induction as a last resort if the baby is in destress. but these are only my opinions and what I typically suggest. sorry for the essay but I just want you to be able to make a informed decision

I've had 3 c sections, never been in labor. but I've heard it can be anywhere from a couple hours to a week before you go into labor. that's a tough decision.
