Well, I would highly recommend pumping that way when she gets bigger and stronger you'll be able to nurse her. It's ok to not get a lot of milk out at first, just continue to stay hydrated and pump often.

I think I'm going to pump. I would love to breastfeed but I don't know how I feel about not know the exact amount that is going into her body.

My first son lost 10oz by day 3 of life and I took him to the hospital and they told me to use formula for him. What's important is you recognized* that something wasn't right. The nurses told me that lots of women wait too long to be seen by a doctor, so it's good you took her in when you did. Things happen momma. You could probably still try to nurse if breastfeeding was your long term goal and also supplement with formula. Just don't feel bad. You did the right thing. (Picture is of our feeding plan.
