Changing your name isn't that bad if you already have all of the papers you need. My dmv and social security offices both needed my birth certificate, plus some other things. I'd suggest making a list to make sure you have it all. I will say it added a layer of stress to my hospital paperwork because I already paid my co-pay, registered, and I had to take an epidural class.

when you get married you decide if you want to change your name, and if you do, your legal name is now whatever you changed it to. that means you need to update your name everywhere. on your id, at your bank, car registration, social security card, any bills in your name, and whatever else has your name attached to it. you're still the same person, but you have to use your legal name on all of that stuff, so you have to update it.

It depends on what you want to change if you want to change your last name to his you go the social security place and bring your marriage license and If you want to change your bank name etc you bring the papers from the social security place plus your license

You definitely won't regret it my wedding stress me out I couldn't be more happy with the decision we made to go to the court house and saved so much money some people do the big wedding but I felt really good about my decision to do something different

I'm not married so I'm not sure what you change, but the only difference at the hospital literally is if you're not.married, your fiance signs a declaration of paternity giving him rights and you both sign that you agree on the last name. literally just one piece of paper. so if you don't want to rush the marriage license I wouldn't worry about it!
