I forgot to ask my Dr if I can eat regularly before the glucose test. There aren't any restrictions are there? ?

I had to fast for 9 hours. no water or anything.

Don't eat for at least two hours before. My test was at 8:15AM and I was finishing my breakfast of just EGGS and MILK at 6AM. Then I only drank water until after my test.

Ok @mylittleprincess @babymay2016 thanks! I wish I would've scheduled it for like 8 am instead of noon now :'( I'll be starving by then lol

My test was at 3:30pm, I stopped eating at noon. Passed just fine.

just don't eat for two hours before and you will be fine!

you can call the lab where you're having it done at and they'll tell you. better safe than a messed up result :)

@mylittleprincess, that's what I ended up doing :) they said no restrictions but not to eat a ton of sugar right before.

My doctor gave me paperwork before I did mine and it said I didn't have to fast. I went yesterday at 230 and I ate breakfast like normal. I was too busy at work and honestly scared I would fail so I didn't eat anything at all just drank a lot of water. I did pass. And you best believe I went home and piggedbout😂

No problem! My doctor actually didn't mention anything to me either, so I called to ask. I didn't wanna mess up but I was thinking there was no way they'd make me wait til almost 4pm to eat something. My doctor's nurse said to eat as usual, obviously don't load up on sugar. So I went to Denny's for breakfast. Ham and cheese omelet and hashbrowns and a glass of lemon water. Didn't eat anything after noon. Went in and passed with a 110. Don't stress too much. @schu35, I absolutely hate when I have a lab that I have to fast for! I eat very often so I get really dizzy, crabby, and headaches if I get too hungry then to have them poking me with needles. ugh! I ended up calling and they told me the same, to eat as usual but not a ton of sugar. I wonder if that includes natural sugars though cuz I do eat a ton of fruit which could possibly affect it. lol ill just have an egg sandwich or something hahaha

Lol @michellevaldez4750 that was my issue. I packed strawberries for myself but never ate them because of the sugar. I think I may have over thought it a little bit but always safe than sorry. Just eat breakfast and maybe a little snack if your hungry. Will they tell you the results right away? My doctor did and I was thankful for that

my doctor said I could eat around 7:30, my appointment is at 9. high protein, no sugary foods.

@heatherlg88, that's exactly what I'm going to do I'm going to have an egg sandwich with some cheese and maybe some pretzels before I head in
