How do you ladies get your babies into a bedtime routine? Says on Internet to try at 3 months but I want to start introducing bits now at 9 weeks, any advice appreciated, just Caleb sometimes gets overtired and is hard to get to sleep! 🤔
Oh right @suzie31 Thankyou I have a turtle that projects stars on ceiling will try that. Currently feeding after bath nearly asleep. We will get there Thankyou. And I agree does pay off having a good bedtime routine definitely we had one as kids. Oh so does the daylight not make s difference? Xx
Well it's never too late. Just takes a little patience but it does pay off. It was a bit scatty at the beginning but we got there. For example he's having a bottle now, he'll be awake for a bit or maybe doze a little. I'll check to see if he wants any more milk as he normally leaves a bit. Then I'll put him up, he'll either lie there awake for a bit quite happily then go sleep. Or just be zonked out as soon as I put him in there. I have one of those ceiling light things with pictures going round the room so that's always a winner. I've also read that naturally the human brain reconises the difference between night/and day. It's in our biology. Day sleep is different xx
Wow @suzie31 as if! Wish we started it from beginning really but he was crying. All time and didn't realise it was colic, not an excuse but read somewhere it's best for babies to have routine at 3 months! Oh well it's not too late I'm gonna crack it and start routine from tonight. Does your son fall asleep on his own @suzie31 or do you feed or cuddle to sleep? Thanks I'm needing full nights sleep now lol! Xx
Yeah it doesn't matter what time you do it as long as it's the same. obviously the same time every night at the beginning then when you want him to sleep earlier bring it forward a little etc. and like @suzie31 said, do night time upstairs. not downstairs like a nap or whatever.
Me and my OH started it as soon as we got home. Slept anywhere downstairs for naps. And 7pm every eve goes to real bed in his moses basket. Fortunately it's worked. Now skips his night feeds and sleeps straight through to 5:30/6am. I wasn't to bothered about what times when I had him but my partner was adamant to get him into a routine ASAP and I'm really glad as I get a full nights sleep. Xx
Thank you so much @tuftyturtle didn't know that about the time. So atm he goes to sleep between 10-1 depending on his tummy and when I can settle him so even if I start bath etc at 8:30 and slowly bring it forward it doesn't matter? I guess in time he will get it wont he, I don't expect him to get it tonight. And will that help him to eventually fall asleep on his own?
We just do bath bottle bed at around bedtime. even if they wake a little while later at first you're establishing a routine. I don't bath my daughter every night so on the nights she doesn't bath I give her a little massage then bottle bed. babies have no concept of time lol so it doesn't matter what time you do it , you can start later and gradually bring it forward or vise versa it's just the routine of the actions that they will associate with bed time.
❤️Getting to know you❤️
Since our May group is growing strong and we have a lot of new mommies joining and sharing their bfp's...Thought it will be fun to get to know each other as we all share our pregnancy journey!
need suggestions....
So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
GENDER POST! ??????
Alright mommas for everyone whose going to be finding out gender sometime in November or later..lets get a post going and keep each other updated. And for everyone who has already found out post below what you thought you were going to have and what you are actually having! ?
IUI Monday!!
So today I went in for my routine bloodwork and ultrasound, and found out that I have three follicles at 17mm! Plus another two at 15mm. When leaving the clinic my FS said to take another dose of gonal-f and come back tomorrow to check to see how big they got and that we would do the iui on Wednesday. Well, after getting home, taking my gonal-f and going out to shovel snow (lol) I get a call saying that I am SURGING!!! I haven't ovulated on my own, or even come close to it in years...
For Fun
With most of us in a sleep regression or exhausted from being working moms, or just plain bored I figured it would be fun to get a little game started... so who's up for 2 truths and a lie? It's easy.. you post 3 facts about yourself, 2 true and 1 lie and when you guess you post yours here's mine:
Well as far as I read daytime sleep is different from night sleep. And our bodies know, We naturally go into a deeper sleep when night time comes round and become more sleepier. That's what there called lol projector haha. Yeah he loves his. Is there a time in the eve where you think he's more sleepy than other times? Try and go with that one. That's what I did with my boy xx
