we have decided to start sleep training. we are going to use the cry-it-out method but my question is do you start with naps first or do you start with bedtime first? (please do not lecture me we have thought long and hard about letting our child cry it out and we do not need any backlash. It's a personal decision. thank you)

I can rock my son for hours and as soon as I put him down he screams 😧 I'm trying so hard! and when I do put him in his crib, at night he wakes up and I just put him in our bed lol. I know that probably ruins everything but him waking up every hour kills me. sleep training is like my last option but idk where to even start.

Ehh well you could rock him and put him in his crib then sleep train at six months. Honestly when I transitioned my son it went really smoothly. I was a nervous wreck the first night but he slept fine! But I still rock him to sleep...lol I know shame on me and he's almost a year old

I want to transition him to his crib. but idk if I should do it now or wait until he's 6 months bc that's when they say babies have the ability to self sooth and sleep threw the night.

That is for sure teething then. I would transition him now. Sooner the better

So how would you sleep train him? Or were you thinking of transitioning to his crib?? And no no worries I don't judge that at all! Parents have their own reasons (:

Yea it could definitely be that and if you did do sleep training he would still wake up a lot. But do ibuprofen or whatever because he is in pain and could be cutting a tooth soon. Ugh I really hope it gets better for you. Do you let him cry in his crib when he wakes up? Sometimes my son cries hard for like two minutes then he's out again

Cry it out works really well. My daughter is 4 and has known that when we say bedtime it means sleep and keep as close to a set schedule as possible. It is hard at first but totally worth it in my opinion. You got this just stay strong!!

yep. 5 days short of 4 months. 😧 I think he's teething to bc he always has his hands in his mouth, slobbering, swollen gums. I do ibeprophen before bed most nights but I don't want him getting addicted or something. if that's even possible lol

Ya my son did that! OMG it was the worst! Is he almost four months?? My son started teething at a young age (he's had 8 teeth since 7 months) your son could be going through that. Have you tried Tylenol before bed? It was hell from 3-6 months on and off because of that. Tylenol did help though

Okay. He's just going through this sleep regression and he's up every hour. it's killing me! @edomke

But they usually say wait until at least four months. Your son still needs one to two feedings at night

Cry it out for everything. Best way to start is have them drowsy in your arms then put them down
