When I was first pregnant and said I didn't want to breastfeed people didn't really comment much... but now she's almost here I feel like I'm being pressured into it left, right and center! I'm so sick about hearing the "benefits of breastfeeding" and "breast is best"! I feel like people assumed I'd change my mind when it go nearer the time... no! I know breastfeeding isn't for me! 😡😡😡😡

Ignore them! All that matters is your baby is fed no matter which way you choose! X

I wasn't even able to breastfeed and I still got nasty comments about how I didn't try hard enough etc. There's just no talking to some people, they're convinced that their way is the only way. Ignore them and feed your baby the way that you prefer, as long as they are fed and loved it doesn't matter whether it is coming from the bottle or the boob x

@charney91x, my mum just said I should do it for the first day which I don't want to do incase of nipple confusion and upsetting her stomach xx

My sister tried it for the first day as she's a young mum and they did really push her into it, but my nephew didn't like it at all! You do what you feel comfortable with only you know you're body and only you will know what you're baby wants and needs :)! Xx

@firsttimemummy21 totally get where u coming from. This is my first baby so I would like to give breastfeeding a good try,but I won't be putting too much pressure on myself if I feel it doesn't work out. On my 1st midwife appointment she mention breastfeeding quite a few times etc so I have a feeling I will be hearing about it for the rest of my pregnancy x

@missy84, health visitors always bang on about it xx

I totes understand, I'm bottle feeding and when I came out of a midwife appointment once there was a lady there with a list of support groups, I thought great that would be lovely but they were all breastfeeding support groups, I said that I'm bottle feeding and she was like oh well they may let you join!!! I was fuming, how can you have support groups for one and not the other, really couldn't believe the lack of total support out there xx

@gemb, this is very true! I have had many questions about bottle feeding throughout my pregnancy and I found it very difficult to find answers because most people were like "I don't know, I breastfed" ect xx

I feel the same, at all my appointments the midwives read me all the benefits of breastfeeding and why "breast is best" and then they didn't even ask me what I wanted to do, they just put me down as wanting to breastfeed! 😡 I feel like I'm being so pressured into it and it's making me not want to. I know my body and what's best for my little one and I don't think I could cope with it to be honest. I wasn't breastfed and I'm fine..

I breastfed both mine till 4 months and then combination for a month then formula . It's hard , tough , and yeah sometimes draining . But the lack of knowledge for mums about it is ridiculous . Mums assume they can't do it or not producing enough because baby wants to be on it almost constantly - that's because it's regulating and telling your body how much and what it needs . Breastfeeding is a great bonding experience - and them first 3/4 days are like golden syrup to a baby - helps the immune system massively..... If you don't want too try its totally your choice but why not try expressing that colostrum... Or hand expressing for a bottle feed ? Xxx

I feel the same people keep asking me if I'm breastfeeding but I'm not I'm bottle feeding instead, I know breast is natural but I'd feel so uncomfortable with it. I feel like if I breastfeed my OH can't do much and he want to be involved in everything 🙈 xx @firsttimemummy21

I'm not breastfeeding either, I've been shocked by the support off my midwife and health visitor. My mam breastfed me for 6 months and said although she loved it, she hated it too! Its your choice, just block out the negative comments. (: xx

There will always be a Stigma over breastfeeding and why its the best. You have to do whats best for you. i breastfed my daughter for 6 months then transitioned to bottle as I was going back to work. It is hard and it is draining as only you can feed the baby. Don't feel judged if you dont want to breastfeed. Baby is yours and its YOUR choice. xx

@lynette26, my OH really wants to feed and obviously if I'm breastfeeding he can't and I really don't want to take that away from him xx

I'm the exactly the same as you! I don't want to take that away from him as it his chance to bond feeding baby too @firsttimemummy21 xx

I'm going to breastfeed but on because I can't find baby formula that is vegetarian and cheap but I also worry that I won't be able to breastfeed because no matter what I do to my boob's nothing happens they don't leak and nothing comes out and I worry that there is nothing in them xx
