I keep posting but ladies I really need to know what are the signs of labor I really don't want to bug my doctor if I'm just being nuts , but I just have a gut feeling I might be. I need to know 😞
@mariahje, with your cramps did you ever get them before? Cause I have them on an off for about a week or two.
I had period-like cramps the day before my water broke. mostly in my back too
really bad cramps. mine was almost paralyzing and a lot of pressure in vagina and butt. My water didn't break and I didn't lose my plug
Also, take pictures of your belly often and watch for it to drop, or lower. That means the baby has dropped which means he or she is getting into position to be born.
Dull back ache that can stem into back pain, Cramps in your lower abdomen, diarheah, discomfort in your pelvis, and a increase in vaginal discharge as well as losing the mucus plug, which is like a glob of snot with blood in it, which means your cervix will begin dialating.
Now, as far as contractions go, everyone is different, some have the following, so if you feel any of these, count them, and how far they are apart:
Back labor: A tightening in the back that stems to the sides of your hips, fades into a dull back ache, and continues that pattern if indeed they are contractions.
A tightening in the stomach going from the top, and down accompanied by pain.
A dull ache stemming from the lower back around to your lower abdomen creating a tightening in the belly with pain.
Another thing you should know is irregular contractions are most likely braxton hicks. However if they are continueously 10 to 5 minutes apart, and you have many of them within an hour, lay on your left side, and drink cold water. if they don't subside, it is the real thing.
Breaking of the water: It can come in a small gush, or leak for days. It can be a big, or small leak. The best way to know if your water is broken is if your pads are saturated, being wet, and smell sweet instead of like urine. If at all the wetness in your pad is a green or a brown, and it isnt discharge, your baby may have had a bowel movement, and you need to go in and get checked to see if baby is alright.
Every person is different. I had severe cramping. I was dehydrated but I was 3 min apart contractions immediately just depends on your body and what stage of labor your in.
@ang20, nope I just had them that one time so I knew something was up lol
