how do you respectfully confront someone who keeps trying to correct your parenting? 
and how do you tell someone you can't smoke around the baby? I walk away, but ppl walk up to him while smoking

I tend to laugh and say something like. I wasn't asking advice actually or for any input on the matter and then I smile. People tend to tell that they over stepped the line. When it comes to smoking I tell all new company ahead of time to not smoke around my baby and if they don't like it I walk away.

whenever I confront someone I usually say "I hope you don't get offended by this, but this is just the way I feel about ............."

I would say "not trying to sound harsh but I am the parent and I want to be the one who makes my own decisions with my child." and for the smoking I'd simply say can you not smoke around my baby
