Day 4 of breast feeding and sadly I think its time to go to formula full time. Jayce is still having trouble latching even with a nipple shield and beinf that he was born underweight for full term I don't want him losing weight or not getting fed enough. My breast hurt SOOO bad, they're hard as rocks 😩😩 I'm disappointed but I'm not going to beat myself up about it cause I have to do what's best for him.

Try making a appt with ibclc first. Do a weighted feed to see what baby is getting before throwing in the towel. The engorgment will go away in another day or 2. The beginning is always hard but it's so worth it in the end.
@jaycemommy, girl I had the same problem cause my baby was born premature, and my boobs were super hard and sore. So I had to switch to formula.
Awww jordie I went through the same thing . U know you can txt me 😩 have you tried latching him naked stripped down to a diaper and u don't have on a shirt for the skin to skin contact?... Put a little of ur breast milk on his lip and move ur nipple to his nose so he smell it and then to his mouth?
