Okay so, is it possible to be having contractions and not know it because you can't feel it? I just read this girls post & someone commented saying that most contractions are the tightening and hardening of your stomach, even if you don't feel it. And I've noticed that my stomach does that a lot lately. It'll be really hard and tight but I don't feel any pain. I never thought much of it being a contraction so I never tried to time them or anything but they do come in spells. I know I'm probably starting to sound annoying constantly asking questions and whining but I don't know anything about having a baby being a ftm and I'm so ready to have my baby I think I'm just freaking out about every little thing that could or couldn't be labor! I just feel like the mom's on here give me a little more reassurance 😊
@dcb012, you can tell I'm a ftm cause I just automatically assumed it happened to all moms every pregnancy lol I never knew that you could go into labor without it breaking at all 😂
@kisha, i had my cervix checked last Wednesday. My doctor said and I quote "your about the size of a fingertip" 😑 like I was supposed to know what that meant. I guess he saw the look on my face cause he then said "that's about 1-2 cm" so I never really got a certain number. Idk if I've changed any since.
Only if it full blown breaks. I have a friend who was in labor for 3 weeks with her water leaking because it only tore and only leaked when she'd sit as if she peed.... I must have weird friends because only one of them actually had their water break fully lol
@mommybug, wow lucky you! I'll definitely start trying to time them from now on. And thank you :)
@dcb012, i know water breaking isn't always reliable because it doesn't always happen. I just meant if it were to happen that would be the reason I know for sure that I was going into labor lol
@julieann81, I am. And mine doesn't feel like I'm getting my period, but my stomach does get really tight on one side too. Especially if I lay down on that side. I just thought it was the baby too!
Its okay to ask questions. Yes you can totally have BHC and not have severe pain. with my second my water broke and I was already 4-5 cm. I didn't have painful contractions until I hit 8cm! But everyone is different. Have they checked your cervix yet?
I labored from monday until Thursday morning and didn't even know.. when i got to the hospital for mu induction i was already 6cm dilated and having pd like cramping(since monday) and once they put the monitors on me i was informed that i was having contractions.. this was my 2nd baby btw.. every labor/woman/pregnancy is different.. try timing them then call l&d after maybe 4 hrs of timing.. good luck#
@queenace, don't rely on your water breaking.... I was 9.5 cm and still didn't have my water break, leak, anything.
I would time your pain, bounce on the birthing ball or even walk alot. that will get it going. I also felt like I was getting my period, and found out I was having contractions and one side of my belly would get tight, but I thought It was the baby
@julieann81, see I constantly have low back pain and pain in my hips. But I never know if it's anything serious. My water hasn't broken either and that's what I'm waiting on cause that's the main way I'll know for sure what's happening lol
@dcb012, I've learned soooo much ever since I got pregnant lol
