@gingermama, don't feel bad the nurses came and told my husband that they would turn the monitors off and we could go in and take a shower and have sex to speed things up because i was at 5cm and not progressing and he refuse to do it and i kept begging him.

Sex helps at this stage especially the sperm it helps softens the cervix. My doctor tells me everytime she sees me she wish I could have sex because it will help me progress faster and I'm on 37 weeks. Tell him that and then just do positions from behind so he won't be distracted by the bump.
