so did mine, but the Carter shoes are made a bit bigger to allow room for their feet to move. the pair we have open nice and wide her foot just slides in. she never wears shoes unless we are out so she hated shoes but now she tries to put them on.

we had that problem, Hanes socks worked better for my daughter...they were lighter and stretched easier and carters shoes are awesome...I was able to get the walking ones, they have different stages for crawlers and so on. they go on so easy and my daughter loves them. before we got them we just had a pair from Walmart and it was a struggle getting them on because she hated them.
