I'm beyond mad at my obgyn so me and my mother n law and my father n law for lost looking for my obgyn yesterday morning and being up at 430 in the morning so my husband and his brother n law can go to work and we use the car (we have only 1 car until his check from our wreck comes in) any who. well we called the obgyn and told them.we're lost she asked where we were and we said parked over by the cancer center she said park there and walk to the medical center and were right behind the hospital. okay we did that. went inside and filed out my papers and talked to the obgyn. this is the part that made me FURIOUS!! I asked when will I get my first ultrasound done. she told me i will not get a ultrasound done until I'm 22 weeks!!! HOW WILL I KNOW MY CHILD IS OKAY!! WHEN I DO COME IN FOR MY APPOINTMENTS EVERYONE ELSE HAS HAD 3 ULTRASOUNDS DONE AND I HAVE HAD 1 AND I COULDN'T GET A PICTURE OF MY CHILD!!! She told me i will come in June the 9th just to use the machine to hear my child's heart beat and then leave is she allowed to do this and not give me ultrasounds because I told her I want ultrasounds done and it's not fair on my part where I don't get to watch my child grow!!! Well it don't end here the lady at the obgyn desk said it was 100% okay to park at the cancer center. walking half a mile in pooring rain to find out the car was towed!!! then walking a mile in the rain to get to the hospital it took 4 hours soacking wet frezzing before we got our car back!!

If you are unhappy, try finding another office. I am considered high risk and have gotten a ton of ultrasounds. my sister is 10 weeks behind me and has only had one. It depends on the office, they could also say that now but then layer on have to give you one. The parking situation is crazy tho! But seems like you aren't happy and maybe you would feel more comfortable at another office. @lilbit96

I'll also add that I didn't even get to see my first ultrasound because it was done in the emergency room. I went in because of cramping and spotting and because ER protocol I couldn't see anything. I didn't get to see my baby until I paid out of pocket for a elective ultrasound at 16 weeks.

I have Medicaid and they only cover 2 ultrasounds. One early on for dating and one for the anatomy scan. The only way they will cover more is if your ob sees it necessary. My last pregnancy I ended up getting one every 2 weeks from 30 weeks until I delivered because I had some issues with my placenta that they needed to monitor.

It's not unfair. It's standard practice. There is nothing to argue about. I'm sorry you're incapable of seeing that.

What does her age or her being unable to take care of her child have to do with her getting an ultrasound and you not. I understand it's upsetting but you can't put someone else down .., everyone situation is different she maybe high risk so you can't judge just off of what you see

Insurance is only part of it. You honestly have no idea what her situation is regarding her pregnancy and why she is getting ultrasounds. The point I'm trying to make is that it's quite normal for some offices to only give you one ultrasound as an anatomy scan. I don't see how that's unfair to you. Other than it's upsetting to not be able to see the baby.

I did complain about the car situation and that 15 year old girl had the same insurance as me because I heard them ask her what she had and she said pregnancy Medicaid and i don't see how a child who isn't old enough to take care of herself is having a child and gets ultrasounds on her new paitent appointment like me. there treating me unfairly and not right at all I'm probably going to just leave obgyns because this is not fair at all tbh

Some offices only do the anatomy scan around 20 weeks. It's just the way they work and also depends on what your insurance covers. It's not uncommon at all. Some get one initially to date the pregnancy, some get more if they are high risk. Only suggestion for you would be to find a boutique. Around my area they are between 45-150$ depending on which package you get. I understand being frustrated, but it's pretty standard. The car situation is a complete different story and I'd be complaining because they told you it was ok - unless there was signage saying you couldn't park there. They should cover that cost.

that's what I thought and I don't see how it's fair on my part because this girl litterly 15 went in for her first patient appointment and came back out with ultrasound pictures and I get told i don't get a 1st ultrasound until I'm 22 weeks just so I can find out the gender and that's the only time I'll ever get a ultrasound done
