Ladies, need opinions, please don't give me attitude because I will ignore it. My two stepdaughters are being raised Christian, MY daughters are being raised Jewish (their father and grandfather are Jewish). My boyfriend and I are atheists... I don't want the baby to be any religion until she chooses for herself. Do you think that's a good choice? Or should I just choose one or the other??

Yes I think it's good that you will let them choose they're own religion when they're older

child should choose once they understand it

I left it up to my kids too. I had religion crammed down my throat as a kid and refuse to do that to my own. I don't think that's wrong at all :)

We aren't religious but I may be sending this boy to 1/2 days at a Jewish School when he is 2 years old. I think maybe for consistency with the other children (so the new baby doesn't feel left out), you go with the one that makes the most sense. You can still let the kids know that it's their choice in the end which religion (or no religion) they identify with.

I was always allowed to choose my own religion and I'll let my daughter choose hers too.

If you're an atheist you can't possibly teach your baby how to be Christian... And honestly, Christianity is the last religion id teach. If your kids find spirituality on their own then that's beautiful but my kids will not know of a religion that isn't real and brings out hate in people. Ugh. Not Christianity lol

My dad is Jewish and mom is Catholic and they raised used Jewish and I'm upset they didn't let me chose for myself because I don't agree w the Jewish religion and want to be Catholic so it's way better your letting them pick wish my parents let us pick

I think that's good because I didn't choose the religion I wanted to believe in I like being a Christian but the church I was raised to attend while growing up made me not even wanna go to church anymore 😩😩😩

I was raised Catholic, and my stepdaughters are being raised Christian by their mom, who is a born again or something. Thanks ladies, I will stick to my guns and let the baby choose for herself.

we are raising our son Christian but he will have a right to choose if he wants to continue with it as he gets older. I mean we arent bible thumpers by any means but we know we love God and will raise him to as well.

Well if they are raised Christian then you should allow her to do that. I'd just not really mention it. Those are her kids and she'd already exposed them to that. Telling them anything else will confuse them.

I agree, let your child choose. I'm atheist, my husband is agnostic. I was raised in a very Christian household, it didn't affect me negatively but as I got older I decided it wasn't for me. If you feel like you have to choose a religion for your child it's not a bad thing. But I will not be raising my child with a religion, if she decides she wants to be religious I will support her decision, I won't prevent her from doing it. I will also keep her informed about religion because it's something I wouldn't want her to be misinformed about. I want her to be educated about all topics in life.

let your child choose. I'm not very religious (not sure which one I would even be classified as lol) we've been teaching my daughter a little bit of a few of them and letting her choose when she gets older. I really dislike how religion gets pushed on kids at such a young age

I let my daughter choose. My parents MADE me go to church and I hated it. I've given her exposure to church. Sometimes she wants to go, sometimes she's doesn't & that is fine with me. It needs to be her choice
