It took me a long time to make one just for two people to use it bc some people dont know how it works and some people just wanna buy whatever they want. But like @bellahali said you will get a off code if you are registered with target. If you are dont forget your baby registry gift bag that comes with baby goodies and a lot of coupons. You can get the bag at costumer service
I made one and most people just bought whatever but there are some people who really follow the registries. And it saves you from answering "what do you want?/need still". I know mine was looked at a lot do people also use then to get ideas of what kinds of things you like. And big ticket items people can see and then sometime get with others to purchase together.
Lol so u don't get useless crap or ugly things 😂 I had a registry and still got ugly un needed crap like bottles and pacifiers I'd never use among other things .. Go make a registry it's super fun :)
Also do hesitate to throw on that car seat after they hit their weight limit for the infant seat .. I will say best thing I ever did was get two car seats and I didnt have to purchase later :)

And so far people have only been purchasing exact things I have listed on my registry and I also use my registry as a list of things I want and need so I don't use lose track. I plan to buy everything that is left is over.
I didn't have a registry because I had already bought pretty much everything my baby needed. When people did buy me stuff, they usually always asked what we needed/wanted. It's 2016, people aren't dumb. Everything I got from my baby shower, I'm defiantly going to use.
lol I made 3.. nobody bought anything off of there.. they all bought what they want..but then again I'm not having a baby shower. I'm having a welcome home one so we will see..
