*Advice or Tips pls*
My son turnt a month old Wednesday an I've been breastfeeding since birth only pumped a few time's. Well I've started pumping an I'm only pumping about 3-4 oz an I've had to pump two bottles already tonight because he was still hungry. When I'm nursing him I have no problem, it seems as if he gets enough an my milk flows like crazy when I'm nursing. But I really need to start pumping more because I have to start my college classes soon.
Any tips or advice? 😕
@lizziekay392, welcome!!! if youre on fb, theres a pumping group with a ton of info!!!
i had to pump from the moment caleb was born...pump every 3 hours for 20 minutes. i had to every 2 hours because he was a newborn. and even power pump!!! 20 minutes on, 10 off, 10 on, 10 off, 10 on. lots of water!
And you usually aren't supposed to pump until 6 weeks when your supply is established
They're likely misinformed. 4 oz is more thn you should be pumping, it indicates an oversupply which is only good if you're exclusively pumping.
Oh okay I'm not sure. Everyone in my family keeps saying I should be pumping more an that I'm starving him because he eats so much do it's been stressful on me
You only pump once a day u til you have enough for first day. Baby nees 1 to 1.25 oz pr hour while taking a bottle
I am breastfeeding exclusively but I'm wanting to start pumping which is my problem, I'm not pumping enough for him so it's hard because I have to start classes soon but have to leave him bottles.
My baby is a week old, I breastfeed, pump and add formula at the end. My planned before was to breastfeed him exclusively but nah its easier said than done. So now i mix breastmilk and formula, which i think is better. Are you planning to breastfeed exclusively?
Skin to skin. Ask your OBGYN about what milk enhancers to take aswell. The main thing is to keep breast feeding every chance you can.
Yes I am! what's the group called? and thank you😊
