You may not be the mom but you still have a right & if the child is doing something wrong you do have the right to do what you do. He shouldn't be like that then the child might think you don't like her or something idk, I'll be mad if my bf did that

whether you are the parent or the step parent, you and him are a team. if he expects you to tell her things she can and cannot do, he can't undermine the authority you have and tell her something completely different. I always believed that the parents need to be on the same page, or talk things out if they disagree before handing the decision down to the child. it helps the child to understand when a decision is made. good luck!
