I use to work preschool. The longest I have ever seen a kid be upset at school was maybe a month. But that's not the usual. Give a week. Maybe two. Always make it a fun thing and don't fight them. If it's stressful going, it will take awhile to adjust. All will be good! Maybe stay a few seconds to help him with a toy or something. Or leave right when you drop them off. If you linger too long apologizing it doesn't help your kid. :)
