Someone explained to me what a membrane sweep was...I've heard of it but I didn't know what all the doctor does... 😢…

@emkasting, I wanted to cry during cervix checks too, so dont feel bsd. That's pretty much what it feels like for the sweep

I'm not gonna lie I've been stressing so bad about it though. I think simple cervix checks are painful as hell so this is just killing me to think about. I was so hoping I would go into labor before Thursday so I wouldn't have to have it done 😭 I know, I'm such a wuss haha @a.claypool13

@emkasting, aw thanks girl, best decision I made was getting it done. Just stay kind of active after you get it done, it'll help it work.

@a.claypool13 you're honestly the reason I'm getting it done! Cause when you got it done I saw your post, then just a couple hours later you said you lost your plug, then contractions, then your baby came the next day! Such an inspiration hahah. I know everyone is different but knowing it worked for you is what is pushing me to get it done

@daij, honestly it's uncomfortable, but it's quick. I had mine done last Friday and woke up Saturday morning with contractions and delivered Saturday night.

@daij, that's what I'm saying. 5/15 was my due date and now I feel like hes not going to come till June either. None of the tricks are working for me!!! Like who has two membrane sweeps?!?!

@aubrey725, I feel like she's going to be a June baby lol, I bounce on my ball and it's not working 😡

@daij, I've done every trick on the book. Warm baths, pineapple, sex, walks, I don't have a ball but I've bounced in the corner of my bed. I have been 3cm since 36 weeks and this week I finally progressed to 4cm and from 60% to 80%. My boy is just stubborn as shit And refusing to come out lol

@daij, well that makes sense then, I usually worry about everything too, I guess I was just ready for my baby since I went over my due date that I didn't worry what was going to happen lol plus I got pregnant when my first was two months old so I was over being pregnant 😂

I had my second membrane sweep today and they were 'more aggressive' today. But the first one wasn't bad at all. My first one I was 3cm and now I'm 4cm so I'm hoping this one helps more (I'm 40 +4)

Being induced wasn't as bad as what people had told me and warned me about.. It went pretty good for me I thought.

it can help you dilate more, but you have to be a little open first

@cubanese, yea I looked it up it just sounds like torture. @arivera64 I didn't know I HVAE to be dilated 😡😡😡 I thought it was something that helps WITH dilating... 😰 I hope she makes progress

You have to be dilated at least a fingertip to get a sweep tho mama. The doc has to be able to get his finger into the cervix. It's uncomfortable but not much more so than a cervical check
