@heatherlg88, I'm not exactly sure of the name of it but all you have to do is talk to your ob or midwife and tell them you'd rather get the meds through iv. they worked great. I could still feel the baby moving and I could tell when I needed to push. I'm gonna get them this time around too.

@themommaoffour, I didn't kno you could get the IV pain meds. did they help with the pain? do u k o what pain medication they used on u? I'm not wanting an epidural.

I really want to walk around during labor! That's my second biggest reason for not wanting an epidural. Hopefully it happens the way I want it to.

Believe in your self you can do it! I knew before I went into labour I wanted one. My cousin went all natural and she said the breathing methods really helped her. Like I said moms who can do it in my opinion are bad asses! Plus when you don't get an epidural you can walk around which might help with the pain.

@anessafraga, I'm glad it worked for you! Like I said, I'd like to try to go without an epidural, but things happen. I may not be able to handle it! Lol.

I got it I loved it! I haven't gotten any of the side effects other people have gotten after. I do have back pain but its not from that I have horrible posture and my boobs are big so it takes its toll on my back. Honestly I would not have been able to enjoy my labour as much if I hadn't gotten it. Before I got it I didn't want to talk to my husband I was in horrible pain I was beyond tired! Then I got it and I got to take a nap me and my husband got to bond more. Everyone is different though moms who don't get an epidural are amazing in my eyes no way in hell I could have gone all natural!

That's what I've heard; about the back pain. That's why I don't want to get one. I'd like to go without an epidural. But of course I won't know if I can handle that until I try.

I had the epidural twice. it was great while in labor but now I have constant back pain and it can cause you to have headaches.

labor without it was easier and a lot faster. I got the iv pain meds to take the edge off the contractions long enough to go pee and it only took one push for her to be born cause I could actually tell when I needed to push
