It can take a while my cousin water broke at 32 weeks and she had her 2 weeks later

Yes, the amiotic fluid is what protects you and baby from infection so they want you to come in so hopefully you won't accidentally cause infection

You have 24 hrs to deliver after your water breaks, baby can poop and get an infection, as well as you if you don't and it's very serious. Happened with my brother and it terrifys me so I went in when I was leaking a tiny bit. lol

You don't necessarily have to deliver with in 24hrs of your water being broken. My water broke 2 almost 3 weeks ago and Ive been admitted in the hospital since. And they've been monitoring me and watching me for signs of infection. @knonoz But You should go to the hospital as soon as your water breaks.

and really @mom_2_3_princesses96? I didnt know that! Being stuck in the hospital that long sounds miserable though :/ When is your due date?

My brother was in the NICU for a while and they said he wasn't going to be able to eat or walk or anything on his own. That was also 22 years ago though(he's very healthy) lol
