I mean it depends on what your doctor says if he say you cant work because you will go into labor soon or you are to swollen and it can be a serious condition then he will give you the documents needed but if you want out just because before your maternity leave thats up to you

And usually has to be pretty severe like u need to be on bedrest. I had a bad pelvic separation that the doctor gave me physical therapy for but wouldn't write me out of work. They told me to use a chair and sit at the register smh

Im high risk always will be and I work 16 hrs I'm a nurse and I been out of work since January

I would tell him being on your feet that long is giving you back pain and you need to reduce your hours you work a day. That's what I did and my doctor knocked me down to 5-6 hours a day and if your company does FMLA they will pay you your missed hours.

But take your fmla closer and then use short term disability after so by the time u go back u never miss a beat on your money
