I find it very weird that women get pregnant then they don't want to gain weight because they don't want to become fat , I mean I don't see anything wrong with working out 3/4 times a week but every single day to try to keep the body you had before pregnancy is ridiculous, I seen women say they only eat 2 meals a day because they don't want their child making them fat so they only try to gain 10/15 pounds their whole pregnancy that is ridiculous I will gain 200 pounds if I have to , I want my child to always be fed & healthy you can always get your body back after you have your child it's just a little harder

There is nothing wrong with working out everyday. I plan to get back into a 5-6 day/wk workout schedule. I know people that do it everyday because it is their lifestyle before pregnancy so why not continue. And those people who are working out daily are probably not the ones starving themselves to stay small. They are doing it to stay healthy and have the healthiest pregnancy. And they actually have to eat MORE and have to eat nutritional food to keep up that pace. Plus, you don't need to gain tons of weight just because you are pregnant. You just need to gain enough for baby but there is no reason to allow yourself to gain unnecessary weight. Working out helps with that and it also prepares you for labor and recovery. I'm completely pro working out every day if you can. I'm so impressed by women who can.

Yea exactly ! Working out is great, but the most important thing is to be as healthy as possible, eat healthy, move your body and drink lots of water because you want to be healthy and have a healthy baby! Weight gain is HEALTHY during pregnancy. But again, its about health. So it's not like we should allow ourselves to balloon up like crazy either. It's sad to fall into focusing on things like looks at such an important time like this. Looks aren't everything. We will eventually become old and never look the same. It's our intentions and what's in our heart that matters and lives on forever.

You say not gaining more then the necessary amount and there is no reason to gain more weight...just wait until you get in your third trimester @babybue16 it's much harder then you think! I gain only baby weight until the last five weeks of my pregnancy don't be so quick to judge on the weight gain thing...

Working out can prepare you for labor & delivery but working out also burns off any calories you have gained from eating working out 5/6 times a day for a hour- three hours is over excessive you can't always do the things you used to once you become pregnant because your body is changing physically your carrying a child your meant to grow in areas you don't want to women don't only workout because they want to be healthy they do it because they want to look a certain way & having your child suffer just so you don't look pregnant longer is not cool! @babybue16 @miicat

Exactly me too , I see people that are 5-6 months pregnant & you can't even tell because their stomach is made of abs I love my round belly I love rubbing it & feeding my child everytime he/she gets hungry @edomke

@egates Yeah well I purely support the kind of exercise that's to stay healthy and prepare for labor. I don't think working out a lot is too bad either if you were used to it before pm getting pregnant and as long as you eat back the calories you burned and aren't pushing yourself harder than your body can then everything's fine.

People that over excessively workout don't get back most of the calories they burn off because they don't eat big meals you can't always have small portions for a lunch & a dinner then eat fruits & stuff for breakfast then go to the gym & workout for 3 hours everyday it's not good for your child plus your stomach needs to grow so your baby has space to move people try to keep they're abdominal muscles tight so it won't grow there for not giving the baby a lot of space to grow @miicat

@egates Well yeah obviously that much working out where you can't even eat your calories back is excessive and unnecessary and can't possibly be good for baby we need tons of rest when we're pregnant and it's important to not strain the abdominal muscles too much!! I agree!

@edomke, @egates never did I say that I'm trying not to gain weight or expect not to... I fully intend to gain 30 lbs or more. Im not judging anyone nor do I need to hear "just wait until the third trimester". I know exactly what my mom looked like while she was pregnant with her 4 kids and she walked several miles EVERY DAY. So I fully expect to be huge and gain weight that I can't avoid. Im not trying to stay skinny nor am I supporting women who are trying to and jeopardizing their babies health. Staying FIT and trying to be skinny are two completely different things. Women who work out every day while pregnant are probably not working out for long periods or as extreme as before. And they were probably doing so before pregnancy so it is fine to continue their routine. My workouts typically take an hour and a half with proper rests. I fully intend on getting back to 5/6 days a week- weights/cardio 2-3 and yoga 2-3. I also eat at least 6 times a day when I'm working out and track calories so I make sure I get enough. There is nothing wrong with that. It's not excessive. There is no shame in wanting to look and feel your best during pregnancy and prepare for the future. If you can't do it or don't care to than don't shame women who do. I don't support anyone who starves themselves or makes unhealthy choices to try to stay skinny. Clearly that is bad. You can't be pregnant and expect not to gain a good amount of weight. But if women want to work out every day and eat enough to do so and are not over exerting themselves, I don't see the problem. I see a chiropractor 1-2 times a week and I will be visiting my mid wife regularly, so I'm pretty sure they will tell me if there is an issue with what I'm doing. So far, I've been encouraged to workout some everyday.
