@hnm0807, what did they say when you initially talked to them and told them you needed the four days?

I had to leave work from super sharp pains and the emergency room doctor wrote me off work. when i called them they told me that it would be fine and because its categorized under an injury it would be covered.

But now im here with it and apparently doctors notes are not excused absences at my work.. go figure. Im going to be screwed even if they keep me because i have to go get checked alot because im high risk.

that's bullshit the doc note is the excess they can't fire u fight that shit! or there doing that because they dint want u there

@hnm0807, ok well as long as they were aware of the situation, it would be VERY illegal for them to fire you. They can't do that. That's considered discrimination and is grounds for legal action. You could most definitely sue. By law they MUST allow you to take time off for any appointments or medical emergencies due to pregnancy. If they still try to fire you after you tell them that, let them know you have talked to a lawyer and will seek legal action if they follow through with your termination. And don't sign anything! They could use that against you

I just started the job and they already tried to promote me but i cant take the excess hours right now. They excused a lady to be out for 2 weeks for her friend dying but wont accept ANY doctors notes. I work at Walmart. They its in their policy. I think its a load of crap. I almost wany to walk out but i need the money so im dealing with their crap. Just dont want to work just so they can use me for one more night and then fire me..idk. im just really irritated.

@hnm0807, I hear you, love. I'm in the same situation at work. I know it's really frustrating but don't walk out. They could terminate you lawfully and say that you quit willingly. Trust me though, I totally understand

Yea Walmarts bad for that but u should have 3 absences after that they write u up o worked their for almost 6 years their pains in the ass I don't recommend any pregnant person to work their

And giving someone two weeks cause a friend died that's not allowed it has to be close family members sounds to me like someone pulled strings

@jjmom12345678, dead serious she was just a close friend. i had a doctora note having me off work for 4 days. so theres my 3 days right there. Im screwed I guess.

They should just write u up first chances are someone pulled strings for that close friends and not allowed

Well so far I still have my job, im at work now, but its only because my 3rd shift manager hasnt had the chance to talk to the GM yet, so we will see what happens.
