Anyone want to tell me about your inductions?
Please no opinions about how I shouldn't do it. My husband is active duty military & the only way I can be sure that either he or someone in my family will be present when my baby girl is born is to be induced at 39 weeks. I've already discussed it with my OB in depth & done tons of research, but I'd really like to hear about the different experiences people have had. One of my friends had to be induced at 37 weeks in March because of complications & she said it wasn't bad at all, but I've also heard it's horrible haha.
Don't hold back... I wanna know what to expect.
Myself and 2 friends were all induced within a month of each other. All went well. No complaints from anyone as far as the induction. I ended up with a c section because little man wouldn't drop in and I was bleeding and having other issues but it was because of a pre heart condition. Baby ended up being almost 10lbs and it would have been nearly impossible to push him out in my own without a major tear. Don't be scared to be induced. Just breath and roll with the punches.
I was induced at 40w5d. went in at 6pm to have the cervadil placed and waited all night for progression by morning time I only progressed to 2 cm so the Dr sent me home to wait it out. got home walked up my steps (which are very steep) and went into active labor. labored at home for maybe an hour and went straight back and had dilated to a 4 so they kept me and put me on pitocin. contractions came on really strong and from being up all night the night before I passed out between a contraction and got the epidural (which did not hurt at all) and was able to relax from there on out. Dr broke my water about 9 had Callie at 9:42pm. although I will say it took me a few min to find where to push from because the epidural does do a great job of "numbing" the pain and when they say push through you butt definitely do it lol but after I lost a lot of blood close to a liter and I ripped pretty bad. I ended up having 2 blood transfusions before i got to feeling any better
I was induced at 41 weeks I was only 1-2cm but I was about 90% thinned. I went in at 7pm they placed the cervadil at 9pm the placement didn't hurt like they said it might because my little man was already very low in the birth canal. it started working about 45min after the placement and by the 2nd hour that I had to lay still the contractions where not overly painful, but they where right on top of each other.. by 2am I hadn't progressed any and the contractions where getting horrible with no break in between them, so I had them give me the fentayl because I really wanted to go without the epidural, but by 3am I asked for the epidural. once I got it things progressed better because my body was able to relax and let the contractions work better by 7am I was 4-5cm and when they checked me my water broke because I was so tinned out by 10am when they checked I was at 10cm and ready to push. I pushed for 30 min with every other countries traction because he wasn't tolerating the pushing and I had him at 1103 the next morning
I got induced at 39 weeks with my baby girl :) it was smooth! Went in at 7am they broke my water around mid day and then she was born at 8:42 pm after a few pushes. I honestly slept 70% of the time because it was just a waiting game. Good luck!!
Thank you, ladies! Pretty much everyone who told me that being induced is terrible hasn't had it done recently. I figured things had probably changed & gotten a little better.
