@skyealana, The federal government has taken huge steps in helping to prevent the spread, or exposure, to Listeria. Listeria is killed by pasteurization and cooking. Cold cuts are now sprayed with a food additive that helps prevent Listeria before packaging.

@skyealana, it's fine some doctors say limit it some say nothing about it at all. I ate deli meat all the time during my last pregnancy and my son was born happy and healthy, with no complications

^ not true you're fine:) i asked my OB chances of Listeria now days are so slim... Talk to your ob of you're worried:).. @skyealana no its fine, have you talked to your doctor??

i was told deli meat is a big no no unless heated. anyone else heard this or go by it??
