How do you decide when to start your maternity leave? My manager wants me to put in my time off request soon. Im entitled to 6 weeks and I really wanna work up to my due date as much as possible so I can spend the most time with my son before going back to work. What did you other mommies do? I know that sometimes there are complications or you get induced early, i just want as much time as possible with my baby boy.

I'm working up until a few days before my due date, but I don't get PTO and I'm taking 12 weeks and then going back part time

work up till that time, they cannot make you go on leave early so you have to come back earlier, I wouldn't go for it. Most daycares are 6 wks and up anyway. Tell her to have a sit down!

I'm in the same situation. Only getting 6 weeks off. They kinda just didn't put me on the schedule after my due date which bothers me as I most likely will go late but at the same time they need to protect themselves bc my shift can't be left open. I'm curious as well as the proper way of handling this
