So, obvious question. when will my newborn sleep through the night? He slept all day yesterday and I payed for it big time last night. I don't see how I ever will because he constantly wants to nurse and cries when I put him down. I feel like I am totally unprepared to be a mom. 😢

I'm sure he's getting plenty. they cluster feed to help bring up supply. the whole supply and demand thing. the more he's on your boob the more you'll make. he could also be using you as a personal passifier which will also help bring up your supply but sucks cause your stuck sitting waiting on him to finally let go so you can put him down and get some rest. but if you think you need to supplement that's ok too. as long as he's fed and happy. but if that's more your last resort you can also look up your local La Leche Legue and call and talk to someone for help with breastfeeding.

@kaidens_mommy I try to, I guess I'm just overwhelmed. :(

@cajunpeach89 yeah you're right. is it okay to maybe supplement formula and alternate breastfeeding because I almost feel like he's not getting enough milk.

if he's sleeping all day though just nap as much as you can for now!

Every baby is different, mine didn't sleep through the night until 8-9 months. But my two fight and hate sleep so yours might be different. Usually around 3 months is when you can start sleep training

if you're breastfeeding and he's up all night on the boob then he's likely cluster feeding at night. my daughter did that our first week home and then she finally switched to cluster feeding during the day and slept more at night. hang in there it will get better.
