When can I put the baby bathtub in the tub with me and wash him?

I was told as long as the umbilical cord falls off! But I know alot of natural women (my mom is a true hippie and a midwife so basically referring to her lol) who believe if you wait 2-3 weeks before the first bath then your baby won't get dry patches on their skin or the baby acne

Yeah I've given him baths already with his tub in the sink or the counter but I wanna actually but his baby tub in the my bathtub and wash him in there is what I meant @martinajjones

I don't know from experience but I've seen friends just put the tub in there and them lean over the edge and wash baby. I guess it would depend on what the baby tub looks like? My friend had a huge one and she couldn't fit baby and her in there at the same time

When my son was that age I would put the baby bath in the regular tub and sit in there with him. I felt more comfortable than leaning over the side of the tub and washing him. Wet babies are very slippery lol now he's 6 months and he sits up, I hold onto his arm and we take one together 😊 he loves it!
