So my husband has been wanting me to hurry up and have our son my entire pregnancy but not Monday I may get induced and now he's saying I need to wait till his due date and I need to do it with out pain meds then he had the nerve to look at me and said if I get induced then he's going to throw a fit the whole time to make sure I don't get the pain meds then said if I wait till his due date I can do whatever and he'll be perfectly fine with it even said if I did it natural he'd rub my back the whole time which in a way pissed me off cause I've been in pain but his only response is I wanted a baby I had to do it his way so I looked at him and said yea well I also want alone time with you and the baby before any family or friends see him cause his mom thinks she has to be there and I don't want her there so he looked at me and says wait till his due date then I won't till her anything till after he's born I'm being torn both ways I want to get it over with because I'm in so much pain and I haven't made any progress I would love to sleep and be comfy for once but he dosent see it that way what do u lady's think I should do? ?

I think you are the one carrying the child and the one giving birth to the child so it should be your decision with the dr not your husband dictating to you how it should go.

I would slap the shit out of him and tell him to shut up. He's got a lot of demands but if it was him having a baby come out he would get the meds. Do what you want to do girl. That's your body. The last thing you need is stress about when the baby's coming and taking meds.

@gcpaschal, yea I've been telling him to get over his self my mom's donethe same thing I've got two other kids I has to get the pain meds before with them cause I couldn't handle the pain
@pregomego yea I told him I'll go as far as I can before I need the meds but he's being an ass about it

Most dr's are willing to be the bad guy too, so tell your dr the decision and then have the dr explain it to your husband like it's necessary. He might listen to the dr if he won't listen to you.

That's a bit ridiculous of him I'm sorry, but he's not the one laying there in pain and birthing your child and let me tell ya when you have back labor those back rubs don't do anything but frustrates even more lol! If you need the pain meds then get it but don't wait until it's too late I mean he should have enough respect to not want to see you miserable in pain

See one thing your man needs to understand is that um.. well. You see. THEY DONT LISTEN TO THE FSTHER. AT ALL.. Mother calls the shots once she is.in that delivery room. Everything even if the baby gets circumsized, as well as the babys name, they will ask you, not him.

If anything get the meds, and have the nurses lie to him for you, have him leave the room cause they need to do something. Im sure you can make something up with them.

If he throws a fit in the hospital room they have the right to make him leave the room. when I had my daughter with my ex-husband he tried fighting with me and was yelling and the doctors wouldn't let him back in until he calmed down because it put too much stress on me and the baby, when your in there the baby is already stressed enough from trying to get out.

Ummmm it is not his choice for you to get pain meds or not! How freaking inconsiderate :(. Do whatever makes you comfortable! You should find this video on YouTube of these two guys getting "simulation contractions" as a Mother's Day gift for their wives. It is beyond hilarious. You should make your man get that done and then see if he tells you not to get pain meds
