@floress_j, all obs are different if she doesn't do it someone at the hospital should and yes they do it while in the hospital before you go home usually but I just wasn't able to have him done while we where there cause he was small but I would talk to your ob about it and if she can't tell you anything call up to the hospital and they can give you info

Oh okay, i'll have to have that conversation with my OB at my next appointment. I dont even know if she performs circumcisions or not. So it can be done during your stay at the hospital? After giving birth?

It'll look bad when you're changing him, but give it a week and it will look so much better. The hospital should give you little antibiotic packets to use for a few days, then you switch to Vaseline. The main thing is to keep it lubricated so it doesn't stick to the diaper, if poop gets on it, don't wipe. Get a wash cloth and drip water on it until it comes off. The nurses will explain it all to you, and show you how to care for it. My son didn't seem to mind it, also don't wipe him with a wipe while he's healing. Elliot was given sugar water to help with the pain, the nurses said it acts like Tylenol.

I've read circumcisions are done in different ways.. there's clamps & plastibell @henrysmommy I wonder how common the plastibell method is, i heard its much easier.

My ob is the one doing it and they usually do it at the hospital but bc they wanted to wait for him to gain a little more weight before they did it bc he was only 5 lbs and 8 Oz they are doing it at 2 weeks @floress_j

every baby is different and it depends on what they use for pain. The baby is give simple sugar water or a numbing cream.

Me too girl💁🏻 you have to put some vasaline and gauze pads on it for like a week after. That's all there is to it!

Oh ok @henrysmommy that makes me feel so much better I thought it hurt when they did it and I also thought it was way longer lol being a first time mom I feel so clueless haha

My son was asleep the whole time they did it. Took like 15 minutes! He was a little sore down there for 5-7 days, but that was it!
