what is everybody's opinion on smoking while pregnant? I've never smoked before but there's another woman at my work who is 13 weeks pregnant and hasn't stopped smoking nor has she made an effort to stop smoking.

I think if growing a baby isn't enough to make her quit than she doesn't deserve to have that baby. I'm against it

Obviously I'm against it. But im not going to yell at or shame a mother that does it. It's not illegal so they have the right to do it unfortunately

Mixed. I mean, how often and right in view of everyone? The fact that she's not trying to hide it worries me that she's doing other stuff more harmful behind closed doors.

I used to be a smoker, and I was a pretty heavy one at that. I have a strong opinion about women who smoke while pregnant for the simple fact that I quit cold turkey, no questions asked as soon as I started trying to have a baby. So I know it can be done, and I don't like hearing that "it's hard" or "my doctor said my baby will have withdrawals if I quit". It's ridiculous

I wasn't able to quit with my first 3 kids although I did cut back a lot I know it's really bad for baby and I'm very lucky that nothing bad happened to my kids! I'm really thankful I was able to quit with this pregnancy.

I actually cut down smoking before I found out I was pregnant, because it made me feel horrible and sick. once I found out I was pregnant it made sense and haven't had one since. I feel so much better! after she's born I'm going to continue to be smoke free.
