@shannaa24, thank you! ☺️☺️ I made it to my scheduled delivery date of 36 weeks exactly! Went into preterm labor twice and put on bedrest but I was able to make it
@boenischpartyof5, I'm at risk of preterm labor, so I had to get out and hurry up and get stuff for my bags. I was nervous I would go into labor and have nothing with me. My ob sent me to the hospital for short cervix. so I ran home and started throwing stuff in my bag. I wasn't sure how long they'd keep me. I had a huge list for my hubby. thankfully I only stayed one night. after a week of resting my cervix thickened. so I'm able to live my normal life, and to continue to take things easy.
@boenischpartyof5, I have mine scheduled at 36 weeks as well. I feel like I'll make it. how many weeks were you when you went into preterm labor? what was your girls weight? and did they have to stay in NICU?
@shannaa24, 23 and 32 weeks. After the first time I reduced my hours from 50 to 30 a week and then after the second I had to quit completely. I thought I'd be early but luckily they stayed in but I definitely don't think would have made it to the max 37 weeks at all. I was just so done lol. Baby A was 5.5lb and baby B was 4.8lb. B was taken to NICU just to monitor her breathing but only because she was power breathing, we kept her and her sister together and they said they weren't sure how long B would be there. But, she leveled herself out and was out in 3 hours ☺️ we all went home 3 days later
@boenischpartyof5, I'm so happy to hear everything went well for you. even after the scares. before getting pregnant with twins, I never knew about all of the scares and concerns that come with twin pregnancies. With this pregnancy if I was still working outside the house I would have had to quit as well. the pregnancy is already alot on your body. then the stress from work on the babies. it's just too much. if I worked retail still I don't think I would have made it this far in my pregnancy. thankfully I've been working from home for a year. Your babies were born at great weights. I'm glad they got to go home with you and everything was fine. Did you have to get steroid shots early on? I had gotten mine about 3 weeks ago.
@shannaa24, oh yes absolutely. That's one thing people don't understand when they say they wish they were pregnant with twins. Fraternal's sure just because they're treated as a single pregnancy, but our type is so high risk and no one understands. It's so stressful for us from the very beginning with all the possible risks we could have. I got the steroid shot when I went into preterm labor at 32 weeks. They weren't sure I'd make it to 34 so we did it as a precaution. Good luck with your babies! It sounds like they're doing perfect :)
@boenischpartyof5, that's exactly how I feel. I would tell my mom and family members everything going on to possible ttts and IUGR to preterm labor. everyone didn't seem to understand what could have happened and what does happen to lots of mono di twins. They pretty much just thought I was full of it, over reacting, or it wasn't too concerning to them. they were just exciting about twins. nothing else. so it would piss me off pretty badly. Their only thing that really mattered to me, is my babies lives. thankfully everything has been perfectly fine. I had my shots just a few weeks ago. I think 28 weeks. they told me they hope I atleast got to 32 weeks. then to 34. now that my cervix looks better, I may make it to 36-37 weeks. but I know twin pregnancies are unpredictable. and it can all change by next week.
